What have I read this week?
The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi
This is a fantasy novel about an empire where the colour of your blood indicates your place in it, and two young women who may be about to change that. I couldn’t really get into this one; I didn’t find the characters interesting and didn’t really care what happened to them, so I didn’t finish it. I probably wouldn’t read more by this author.
The New Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko
This is a fantasy novel about a Light Other named Anton Gorodetsky who is a member of the Night Watch which keeps an eye on the doings of Dark Others. I enjoyed this: I like the world and the characters, and I found the plot interesting. I would definitely read more by this author.
